Be the best version of yourself.

Use your true north, your purpose, to grow committed cultures and teams, connected and trusted by each other and your customers.

What we believe in

Everything we do comes from one simple philosophy... of using purpose to enable people and organisations to be the best version of themselves.  It results in people with meaningful personal lives creating connected teams that love their work, delivering amazing customer experiences and trust.  It also results in people living their best lives.

Your Difference

Stop competing. Start leading.

It’s how purpose becomes performance.
It’s how values drive growth.
It’s how your organisation matters — more.

Making You Matter - More

Every organisation says they’re different.
Few can explain why — or how that difference creates value.

Your offering is what you do.

Your Difference is why you matter

It’s the way your business is experienced by your team, your customers, and your community.

It’s your permanent differentiator — and it’s entirely within your control to find and activate.

We help you turn purpose into performance and values into practical tools for growth.

Because when what matters to you connects with what matters to others, your organisation stops competing — and starts leading.

Activating Your Difference

  • Why do you love certain brands, songs, or friends?
Because what they stand for connects with what matters to you.
They make you feel something — connected, special, seen.

Harnessing this same human attraction is how your organisation can matter more to others.

But first, you need to know what matters to you — and why.

    The Workshop

Our “What Matters To You” workshop helps your team uncover the concepts and language that define what you truly value and why it matters.
It transforms purpose and values from abstract ideals into tangible tools for creating value.

  • Your Difference doesn’t live in a document — it lives in the decisions leaders make every day and how their teams experience them.

Leaders are the carriers of culture. They translate values into behaviour, and behaviour into results.

When leaders know what matters to them — and act on it — they amplify what makes their organisation matter to others.

Our Lead the Difference program builds this connection, linking self-awareness with system awareness to show how leadership shapes trust, engagement, and long-term performance.

When leaders align who they are with what the organisation stands for, Your Difference becomes real, visible, and repeatable.

  • A culture that creates value is like a source of passive income — it keeps generating returns simply by being.
But what if it could do even more?

Our Being More program turns cultural awareness into cultural strategy — ensuring your culture becomes a value-creating asset that contributes directly to commercial success – loved by the people who work with you, buy from you, and talk about you.

  • Your competitors can match your product, your price, even your service.
But they can’t compete with your culture.

In sport, the teams that win consistently don’t just play harder — they play smarter.
They know what matters, measure what counts, and move together with intent.

Our ValueBall program channels that same mindset.
Informed by insights from What Matters To You and Being More, it turns what you stand for — and how your culture creates value — into sales strategies that drive trust, loyalty, and long-term growth.

Your sales team becomes the embodiment of Your Difference — creating value through values while competitors are still selling on product, price, service, or relationships alone.

Because when you sell through what you stand for, you don’t just close business — you open doors.

  • Difference by Design

    Traditional strategy delivers traditional results.

It optimises what already exists — but rarely redefines what’s possible.

When strategy is informed by Your Difference, it reveals opportunities others can’t see and builds advantage that lasts.

It designs growth that reflects who and what you want to become.

How Tasmania Influences Our Work

Working in Tasmania matters because its isolation creates space for originality. Separated from the mainland, Tasmanians often think and act independently, unbound by dominant trends or expectations. That distance nurtures a spirit of experimentation — the freedom to imagine new ways of doing things and bring them to life without waiting for permission. Resourcefulness is a cultural norm here: people make things work with what’s available, and in doing so, often create something entirely new.

The island’s landscape deepens this creative impulse. Tasmania’s raw beauty — its forests, coasts, and shifting light — invites reflection and a slower rhythm of thought. In this stillness, ideas can mature, gaining texture and depth. The scale of the community also fosters connection across boundaries: artists collaborate with scientists, entrepreneurs with conservationists, and the lines between industry and imagination blur.

Underlying it all is a strong sense of purpose grounded in place. Living and working here brings an awareness of responsibility — to people, to the land, and to the future. That sense of stewardship gives creativity meaning. In Tasmania, innovation is not just about newness; it’s about shaping something enduring, connected, and true to where it comes from.

All of this, we bring into service for you.

Our Founder’s Story

Tony Bonney learnt to think differently in the heart of Australia’s rock and roll scene. From 1984 to 1994, he worked as a music agent for many of the nation’s biggest bands — a decade immersed in creativity, energy, and the power of shared experiences.

He was known as a square peg in a round hole. Tony loved seeing his bands play, but he didn’t party with them afterwards. He figured his relationships with them might grow faster if he did — but what they really valued was finding him in the office the next morning, ready to represent them again. That approach made Tony different — and it made him attractive to serious artists who wanted serious representation.

What he discovered in those years was that the relationships that truly endure are built on knowing what matters to you — and connecting with others who feel the same.

In 1994, Tony founded Podium, now one of Australia’s longest-running independent event companies. His mission remained clear: events should do more than impress — they should uniquely connect. This belief shaped Podium’s philosophy of creating “experiences that matter” — moments designed to spark genuine meaning and connection.

Over time, Tony noticed that leaders needed help to uncover and express the difference that truly set them apart. That insight gave rise to Grow On Purpose, a consultancy helping organisations matter more. Through the Your Difference program, Tony helps leaders and teams design meaningful difference by aligning purpose, leadership, culture, sales, and strategy.

Based in Tasmania, Tony now works with organisations across Australia and beyond, guiding them to uncover what truly drives them and to engage their people and customers in lasting, purposeful ways. His work continues a lifelong pursuit — helping others create experiences, businesses, and relationships that make a difference by being different.

  • We have been working with Tony from Grow on Purpose now for around 12 months. Over this period, we have held development sessions for our leaders across the business that have been innovative and impactful and have allowed us to come away with tangible actions that we have implemented to help enhance our strategic and operational planning. Tony’s approach is professional, but largely calm and conversational, and the flexible style he brings to facilitation really resonates with our company values and culture. We look forward to continuing our working relationship with Grow on Purpose.

  • Tony Bonney is one of the most impressive Customer Engagement Strategists I have had the privilege of working with. For fear of embarrassing him, we refer to him as the ‘Customer Whisperer.

  • We have been working with Tony and the team are loving the experience. Comments from the team such as “He helps us access what is there in front of us but we haven’t seen it” – “My interaction with our partners is so much easier and enjoyable now as we have a shared purpose”. The program we are on is adding real benefit to the team, having group meetings and then each team member having one-on-one sessions with him has taken our team performance to a whole new level in a very short time. Tony has a gift for positively engaging with people, and this with the knowledge he has gained about our industry is giving us an unfair advantage in the market.

  • Working with Tony Bonney and Grow On Purpose has been one of the most impactful decisions we’ve made for our business. Tony’s guidance has elevated not only the capability of our team, but also the clarity and conviction behind our business values. His ability to challenge, coach, and inspire has brought a level of focus and alignment that has genuinely transformed the way we think & operate. While we’ve put in the heavy lifting to achieve the outcomes we’re seeing to date, Tony has been the catalyst — providing the structure, insight and accountability to ensure our efforts were directed toward meaningful, lasting progress. The partnership has empowered us in continuing to build a stronger culture, a more resilient team, and a clearer strategic path forward. I couldn’t recommend Tony and Grow On Purpose more highly to any organisation serious about unlocking its people, strengthening its purpose, and accelerating real, measurable growth
